Sonoma Bucolic Respite

This home is in nestled within a 2 acre bucolic setting among live and blue oaks oak woodland of the Sonoma Valley, the planting reflects the setting with an informal feeling of ornamental grasses, perennials and flowering shrub, along meandering paths.  The expansive landscape split into distinctive areas, one set among taller trees and two creeks with a central kitchen and grand wood structure and informal lighted dining court and round fire pit.  Stone accents, a raised spa provide the finishing touches and amenities of the east aisle.  The western landscape provides the entry to the house, a centrally focused pool area, pol house, outdoor kitchen and pizza over, along with large artificial lawns, separate fire table lounge and the lighted pool for cooling or relaxation for all guest and visitors on hot summer days.

There are two kitchen pavilions, one for the pool area and pool house guests of larger parties and the rear kitchen pavilion for private dining adjacent to the house.  Both gardens also have fire pit patios that reflex the private spaces of the rear garden and the more open and interactive spaces of the pool and landscape of the front landscape.  Both areas tie together beautifully through meandering that’s of concrete with stone accents or casual gravel paths with boulder edges.  The planting completes the unity of the spaces, with colors, textures and planting that reflects the site, setting, and environment.
